Picpoul has been vibing in vineyards since, like, medieval Instagram.
While other grapes were flexing for fame, Picpoul kept it chill — brightening reds, crafting light whites, and just waiting for someone to notice its secret magic.
Turns out, all it needed was a little sparkle and a lot of love.
Recipe:
Lemon & Fine Herb Shrimp Skewers
(a.k.a. the perfect edible sidekick to your 2023 Splash Joy)
🛒 Ingredients:
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined (bonus points if they still have a little sass)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves organic garlic, minced
- Zest of 1 organic lemon (sunshine powder)
- Fresh Juice of 1 organic lemon (liquid happiness)
- Fresh Juice of ½ organic Orange shhhhh
- 2 tablespoon fresh chopped organic parsley
- 2 tablespoon fresh chopped organic Cilantro
- 1 tablespoon fresh chopped organic basil
- 2 tablespoon fresh chopped organic chive
- 1 teaspoon organic honey
- salt (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ancho chili pepper flakes
- Wooden or metal skewers

- Marinate Like You Mean It:In a big ol’ bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, orange juice, chive, cilantro, parsley, basil, honey, salt, chili and pepper.Toss your shrimp into the bowl and give them a good, loving stir.Let them soak up all that glorious flavor for at least 15–30 minutes. (Pro tip: Do a happy dance while you wait.)
- Skewer up:If you’re using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 20 minutes first, unless you enjoy surprise grill fires.Thread those marinated shrimp onto skewers.
- Grill Time!Preheat your grill (or a grill pan if you're keeping it apartment-chic) over medium-high heat.Grill shrimp for about 2–3 minutes per side — just until they're pink, opaque, and slightly charred in the most delicious way possible.
- Serve and Slay:Arrange your sizzling skewers on a plate, sprinkle with extra herbs if you’re feeling extra, and hit them with one more squeeze of lemon juice for drama.
