Tasting Notes:
This vintage was the first Picpoul we made. It is one of our favorite wines! 2020 Picpoul is tasting as bright and beautiful as ever! Exciting aromas of Asian pear and lime zest with flavors of crisp green apple, loads of citrus and a hint of fresh pineapple.

Take one sip of this 2020 Picpoul and — BAM! — it’s like someone invited all your favorite tart summer fruits to a pool party.
-
First Wave:
Your nose gets tickled by the fresh scent of Asian pear practicing karate moves with a sidekick of lime zest. -
First Sip:
Crisp green apple jumps onto your tongue— totally and absolutely welcome. Then comes a citrus explosion so zesty, your taste buds start a conga line. -
Mid-Sip:
Suddenly — a plot twist — a sneaky hint of tart fresh pineapple swirls in, acting cooler than everyone else.
Fun facts:
When we first dreamed up this Picpoul, we thought, "Hey, let's bottle sunshine". Turns out, it worked! It tastes bright, loaded with crisp apple and juicy citrus. This wine boldly skipped the usual "serious vintage" vibes and dove straight into "drink me barefoot on the porch". It's sophisticated enough to impress your friends, playful enough to tease your taste buds, and secretly convinced it's a beach vacation disguised as wine. Cheers!
Farm notes:
(even grapes need beauty sleep)
Picture this: grapes tucked into their cozy beds after a long day, whispering "good night" to each other while the cool Bay breezes sing them lullabies.
The vineyard gets big, bossy winds from San Francisco Bay — just enough chill to keep the grapes sharp, tart, and working on their PhD's in Flavor Science.
Oh, and they’re not just regular grapes. They're organic (Because basic farming is so last season.)
What the heck is Organic?
Think of it like this:
Organic = Wizard-level farming.
It's farming by moonlight, good vibes, basically a Hogwarts class for grapes.
Who cares?
WE DO.
Because when you treat your grapes like royalty, they throw a flavor party in your mouth. (Invitation: accepted.)
Is organic really organic?
You bet your best wine glass it is!
Grape history:
(Picpoul — older than Tom Cruise’s dance moves)
Picpoul has been around since forever (a.k.a. when French Fries were still just “potatoes trying to find themselves”).
An OG of the Rhône Valley, France, Picpoul was the go-to grape for giving heavy reds a splash of freshness or being crafted into a simple, light white wine.
But treat this grape right, and it reveals a secret superpower: MAGIC.
Recipe:
Lemon-aide Flatbread
(aka "Summer Vibes You Can Eat")
- 1 ball of pizza dough (store-bought or homemade if you’re feeling ambitious)
- ½ cup ricotta cheese
- ¼ cup goat cheese
- 1 lemon (zest + juice)
- A handful of arugula (tiny green pepperworks for your mouth)
- A drizzle of honey (because)
- Crushed pistachios (for the fancy)
- Olive oil, salt, pepper, and a touch of the spirit
🍳 Directions:
-
Preheat that Oven:
Crank it to 450°F -
Roll and Rock:
Roll out your dough to about ¼ inch thick — the thinner the crispier, the crispier the better. -
Spread the Love:
Slather on a thin layer of ricotta cheese like you’re painting a masterpiece called "I Deserve It." -
Top Like a Boss:
Artfully (or chaotically) sprinkle crumbles of goat cheese on top. -
Add Some Sunshine:
Grate lemon zest over everything. Give it a little squeeze of fresh lemon juice too, because Picpoul loves tart. -
Bake it Baby:
Slide it into the oven for 10–12 minutes, until the crust is golden. -
Fancy Finish:
Once out of the oven, throw a handful of arugula on top, drizzle with honey (go wild), and sprinkle with crushed pistachios (optional). -
Sip & Savor:
Pour a chill glass of 2020 Picpoul, grab a slice, and enjoy the feeling of being at a picnic.
Why It Works:
The bright lemony tang high-fives the crisp apple and citrus vibes in the wine.
The goat cheese and pistachios bring just enough earthy goodness to make sure you levitate.
And the honey drizzle? It ties everything together like the first note of your favorite summer song.
